You’ve never heard of the AtlantaSmallBusinessJournal.com before? You are not alone! I started the AtlantaSmallBusinessJournal.com in March 2016. I’ve owned the domain for years but decided to go forward with my vision of an online publication that caters to small business owners. I’m the founder and sole owner, Michael Neely. I have always wanted a resource for the news that is important to me as a small business owner. And when I say “small,” I’m not referring to my height. I mean as a solopreneur, and a business owner with fewer than 100 employees.
The mainstream media is all about spreading the doom and gloom of the day. Other business news sources cover the big guys, the state governments, who is raising more money for state tax concerns and how your tax dollars are spent.
What about the small business owners out there? Aren’t we the largest component of job creation in the U.S. economy? Why doesn’t anyone give us the news we need, much less the kudos we deserve? I have always known Atlanta to be the hub of entrepreneurship in the South. I would like to continue that tradition by sourcing news that is important to business owners in Atlanta.
Do I write everything? No, I don’t. I search the Internet for the articles that are important to small business owners in Atlanta and beyond. I give full credit to the authors and the publications that write the original article. I hope that this will keep me out of trouble, but if you have a concern about any of the information you find here, email me at [email protected].
There is no entertainment section. There is no politics section. There is no sports section. I’ll leave the drama of the day to other sources. Just small business news and events, economics, and other concerns that are important to small business owners. I know that the working in the small business “trenches” can get tough. I’ll even include some of my favorite motivational articles to keep you going.
The vast majority of the graphics featured on this site come from iStockPhoto.com. iStock Photo.com has been my source of quality graphics for years, and I will continue to use them.
As you know, if the small business person isn’t selling, we’re starving. I am no exception. I get it that the Internet is supposed to be free, but the power that turns on my computers and my lights aren’t free. If you are concerned with affiliate links and how I handle information feel free to check out our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use pages.
This site is a work in progress, so stay tuned in for the best news I can provide to all small business owners.
Thank you for checking out the AtlantaSmallBusinessJournal.com, and I hope you enjoy!
