My name is Michael Neely and I am the founder and sole owner of the Atlanta Small Business Journal. I decided to build this business when I noticed that the media was skipping the main component of the US economy, small business. There are some great local publications like the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Atlanta Journal Constitution and some great internet publications like the Huffington Post, Inc. magazine and a host of other publications. However, they sometimes skip articles that are important to the small business owner.
That’s where the Atlanta Small Business Journal comes in. I compile the best news and information I can find that is of vital importance to the small business owner. I source this information and credit the original source and publish this information just like the big papers do, but the topic is small business and items related to small business.
The topics we cover are the local Atlanta economy, legal matters, finances, events, entrepreneurs, tech, opinion and success stories. Just like the mainstream media publishes biased information that keeps the readers “informed” on the news of the day, I strive to keep you informed on Atlanta small business news.
That’s right. No politics. I firmly believe that this is an economic world, not a political world. I think that there is a place for politics, but this site isn’t one of them. There are also enough people covering politics that we don’t need another political site. I’ll let you know if I decide to go the political route.
Got a story? Contact me at [email protected] and, if I think it is a great (or even a good) story that is about small business in Atlanta or in the interest of small business in Atlanta, I’ll publish it.
